History, anthropology, and archaeology are three distinct but closely related bodies of knowledge that tell man of his present by virtue of his past. Historians can tell what cultures thrived in different regions and when they disintegrated. Archaeologists, on the other hand, provide proof of authenticity of a certain artifact or debunk historical or anthropological findings.
Radiocarbon dating also referred to as carbon dating or carbon dating is a method for determining the age of an object containing organic material by using the properties of radiocarbona radioactive isotope of carbon.
When it comes to dating archaeological samples, several timescale problems arise. The Mayan calendar used BC as their reference. More recently is the radiocarbon date of AD or before present, BP. There are two techniques for dating in archaeological sites: relative and absolute dating.
